We started Audiobooks for Self-Publishers to make the audiobook production process less daunting for self-published authors like you. Let’s face it, researching is so much easier when someone has popped it into one handy package. Well, you’ll be pleased to know we’ve done just that! Curating a collection of free resources to support your production process which you can access by signing up to our mailing list on the Audiobooks for Self-Publishers website. These resources guide you through how to produce an audiobook, they are also being constantly added to and updated.

Free Resources..

Our free resources comprise webinars featuring tips and tricks from industry experts. In our first webinar, Lisa Hollinshead, an Audiobook Producer and Director who has previously worked on our audiobooks, joined us. Lisa guided us through making key decisions when producing an audiobook, emphasizing the importance of selecting the right narrator for your story (maybe that’s you!) to ensure the tone and energy align with that of your book.

Lisa also recommends that dedicating time to collaborate with a copy editor to prepare your manuscript for audiobook reading will reduce the recording time. She also emphasizes the level of trust necessary between an author and a producer or production company. These manuscripts are your “creative babies,” deserving the same love and attention throughout the production process as they received from you in the writing process – we wholeheartedly agree! This is just a snippet of the advice available on our webinars.

Giveaway Time!

It would be great to be able to actually “give away time”…moving on. In addition to these resources, we are also offering self-published authors a chance to win an audiobook production of their written book with us at Bengo Media. This will be a remote recording, complete with a copy editor, a producer, and the option to self-narrate or call in a professional narrator. Our aim with the competition is to run through our process for one final test and allow an author the opportunity to turn their book into an audiobook without financial restrictions.

To be eligible to win the audiobook production giveaway with Bengo Media you must have a completed manuscript by 29th February 2024. Your word count must be over 20,000 words and it must be written in English. Please read the full T&Cs on the Audiobooks for Self-Publishers website.
To enter you simply fill in the form on the Audiobooks for Self-Publishers website with your details and a brief description of your book (around 150 words), we don’t need your completed manuscript at this stage.
