Podcasts for Charities
Podcasting can be a brilliant medium for charities to raise awareness of a cause
Here’s how we do it
Talking Cancer: Macmillan Cancer Support: LaunchPod Training
One of the UK’s leading cancer charities, we helped them start their podcast Talking Cancer in January 2020. The ongoing series spoke to those living with and affected by cancer, all the way through from diagnosis to life afterwards. So, what did we do?
- For the first 6 episodes, we provided a full podcast production service. That meant devising scripts and an episode schedule.
- Then, we helped train (through our very popular LaunchPod service) the Macmillan team to be self-sufficient in producing the podcast themselves.
Katie Mallion, Senior Media & PR Officer at Macmillan Cancer Support said:
"Listening to it for the first time on Apple Podcasts made me want to burst with pride - it's been a hugely challenging, emotional and rewarding ride. "
The Petcast: Blue Cross: Full Podcast Production
Bengo Media also worked with animal welfare charity Blue Cross on their podcast, The Petcast, speaking to with some of the UK’s leading pet experts and celeb guests about the big issues facing pet owners. For this series, we were brought in by the PHA Group for full podcast production. We planned out an episode schedule, wrote scripts and handled all the recording and editing for the podcast.
Sarah Dickinson, Head of Media Relations at said:
"Bengo Media have been on the journey with us from day one – carrying out briefing calls with our hosts and animal welfare experts, and drafting scripts, right through to the production, recording and editing our final episodes. When it comes to podcast creation, we think they are pretty paw-some!"
We’ve also fully produced Grief Kind for bereavement charity, Blue Cross.
So - if you want to add a new string to your charity’s bow - book in a call with us and let us know what we can do for you.
